The Worcester County Commission on Aging, Incorporated, is a non-profit agency headquartered in Snow Hill, Maryland.  The Commission on Aging operates the Worcester County MAC Program and Worcester Adult Medical Day Services.  The WorCOA has operated Worcester County's MAC Program for more than 35 years.  The program has four multi-service senior centers strategically located throughout Worcester County where qualified and dedicated staff offer education, recreation, and health services.

Our Mission is to enhance the quality of life of all older Worcester County Citizens by managing community based senior programs that are comprehensive, coordinated, accessible, and to advocate the needs of older citizens.

December 2015 Activities

On Friday, December 11th students from Buckingham Elementary did a great job entertaining our seniors and staff at the WAMDS.

On Monday, December 14th County Commissioners Anthony (Chip) Bertino, James (Bud) Church, Madison (Jim) Bunting, along with Attorney Sonny Bloxom and Bank of Ocean City CEO Reid Tingle all gathered at the Ocean City Senior Center to honor Louise Guylas.

The Ocean City Senior Center held its Christmas party on Monday, December 14. A special thank you to the Bank of Ocean City for having Carrabba's cater the event.

On Tuesday, Decemer 15th students from the Snow Hill Middle School shared their holiday spirit and talent with the partcipants of the Adult Medical Day Center.

On Wednesday, December 15th students from the Cedar Chapel School performed for the Adult Medical Day Center.

On Friday, December 17th the Commission on Aging Christmas party was held.  A special thank you to our Board of Directors and Director Rob Hart for hosting the event.

On Tuesday, December 22nd students from Pocomoke Elementary school entertained the participants of the Adult Medical Day Center.

Democratic Women's Club Donation

The Democratic Women's Club recently donated blankets for all of our Meals on Wheels recipients. A big thank you to all those involved in helping keep our seniors warm this winter.

Pine'eer Craft Club

Members of the Pine'eer Craft Club of Ocean Pines visited the Senior Center in Berlin to make Thanksgiving crafts with the clients. The seniors created a cork coaster with a turkey theme and an edible turkey made of candy and Oreo cookies.

Bank of Ocean City Turkey Luncheon

Thank you to the employees of the Bank of Ocean City in Berlin for serving a delicious turkey luncheon at the Northern Worcester Senior Center. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Volunteer Luncheon

Volunteers from the Pocomoke, Snow Hill, and Northern Worcester County Senior Centers recently attended an RSVP luncheon at the Moose Lodge in Salisbury.

Alzheimer's Walk 2015

Another successful Walk to End Alzheimer's was held on Saturday, October 24th at the MAC Center in Salisbury. A special thank you to Brenda and Scarlet from Hartley Hall in Pocomoke for being walking partners.

The Senior Vote

The Republican Women's Club visited Pocomoke Senior Center on Thursday, October 15th to stress the importance of voting. All those in attendance also enjoyed a performance by The Sweet Adelines as well as some delicious desserts. Thanks to all who provided a wonderful day to our Seniors.

Soles for Seniors 2015

Members of the Snow Hill, Pocomoke, and Berlin Senior Centers recently enjoyed the fun at the Soles for Seniors fundraiser at the Centre at Salisbury on September 16th. This event is held every year to raise funds for the Senior Emergency Fund. This year the Senor Centers from Worcester County raised over $1000.00!

Staff Enjoys Recent Meals on Wheels Fundraiser

Several of our staff members enjoyed the MAC Meals on Wheels Fundraiser at the Suicide Bridge restaurant in Mardela, Maryland on September 12th.

A Special Thank You to the American Legion Post 166

A very big smile and Thank You to American Legion Post 166 for the generous donation of $1000.00 to our loan closet to purchase a lift chair.  As you can see we put the money to use.  Grace Swisher from OC is very thankful.  Please remember if you have a need for a wheelchair, shower chair or other equipment give us a call, we may be able to help.  

New Roof for County Senior

Mrs. Gertrude Shockley (center) poses with several members of the Chesapeake Housing Mission. The group installed a new metal roof on her home. We are very grateful to all those involved for helping making hers a home that is now leak free!

A Visit From Bayside Youth

The youth group from Bayside Community Church stopped by the Snow Hill Senior Center recently to cook lunch and entertain our participants. The kids were great cooks! Thanks so much for sharing your day with our seniors. They really enjoyed the visit. You're welcome to come back anytime!

A Generous Donation Received

Ann Toney, Supervisor of the Ocean City Senior Center, was recently presented with a very generous donation of $1000.00 from the Ocean City Elks Lodge 2645 by Exalted Ruler Christopher Graf. A sincere thank you from the OC Senior Center staff and clients, as well as the Commision on Aging.

A Special Day for a Special Lady

Mrs. Lizzie Waters, a member of the Snow Hill Senior Center, was presented balloons and cupcakes from the Commission on Aging in honor of her 108th birthday!  Mrs. Waters has been attending the Senior Center for greater than 15 years.
